Colorado native Quincy Segelke will be a good teacher since she is so willing to learn and adapt on the fly. Her horse cramped in one leg just before their breakaway roping run on Sunday at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, WY and yet somehow bounced back to take Segelke out for a share of the first-round win netting a calf in 2.1 seconds. The Chadron State College cowgirl is student director for the Central Rocky Mountain Region after transferring from Gillette College in northern Wyoming. Segelke says both of her coaches - Dustin Luper at Chadron, NE and Gillette's Will LaDuke - are inspiring her to succeed at the CNFR this year.
