A house party gone awry led to the arrest of a Casper woman early Friday morning.

Court documents indicate that Shaylynn Peterson was arrested shortly after 3:00 a.m. Friday after allegedly beating up a man with brass knuckles.

Authorities were called to an apartment building located in the 100 block of North Beach St. in response to a disturbance – they found several people arguing and Diego Delgado with a large lump on his forehead and a cut just above his left eye.

According to court documents, Peterson, when questioned, pulled out a pair of brass knuckles and told officers that she assaulted Delgado after he disrespected her family – she later clarified to authorities that, by “family,” she meant an unrelated woman at the party.

Peterson also told authorities that Delgado hit her and “deserved what he got.”

Delgado was transported to Wyoming Medical Center for treatment. Peterson was transported to the Natrona County Detention Center.

Peterson was charged with a misdemeanor assault charge on Friday afternoon.
