A Casper church is reaching out to flood victims in Montana and asking local residents for their help.

Casper's Christ Methodist Church is stepping up after devastating floods damaged dozens of homes on the Crow Indian Reservation in Southeast Montana.

According to the Montana Disaster and Emergency Services, nearly 300 people have been evacuated and the town of Roundup is currently under several feet of water.

Pastor William McGrew explains that Christ Methodist Church decided to seek out assistance from the entire community of Casper.

"I got thinking about it and, it was like, we can open this thing up to the entire Casper area and say, 'hey, if you folks want to help out and give I will load the stuff up and take it up personally on Friday'."

McGrew says that they are asking for donations of bed sheets, bathroom towels, underwear and socks of all sizes.

Donations will be collected Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon at Christ Methodist Church.

Christ Methodist Church is located at 1868 South Poplar
