A student from Casper Classical Academy will be competing as a semifinalist in the Wyoming National Geographic State Bee. Adam Carey, an eighth grader at CCA, will be competing in the finals to be held at Casper College on Friday, March 31st.

According to the National Geographic Society, this is the second level of the National Geographic Bee competition, which is now in it's 29th year. School Bees were held with fourth- through eighth grade students across the state to determine each school champion, and the top-scoring students were invited by the National Geographic Society to compete on the state level. Each state champion will travel to Washington D.C. for the championships in May, and the winner will receive a $50,000 college scholarship among other prizes.
