Casper Receives Requests For Bar And Grill Licenses
The City of Casper is now accepting proposals from people interest in apply for a bar and grill liquor license, according to a news release from the city.
The city recently was allowed to increase the number of those licenses. A new state law effective July 1 allows Casper to issue 14 licenses, up from eight.
A bar and grill liquor license allows a business to sell alcohol for on-premises consumption only.
Bar and grill establishments must be operational restaurants, and they mus earn most o their revenue from the sale of food.
However, this license offers more flexibility than the licenses used by most restaurants. Bar and grill businesses may serve alcohol from a bar, and they may serve alcohol without requiring the customer to order food.
The Casper City Council wants to issue some or all of the six new licenses.
It has started a formal request for proposals process to issue the bar and grill licenses.
The RFP document includes instructions on how to apply.
Proposals may be submitted for a new business that has not yet been established, or they can be submitted on behalf of a business already operational.
City Council will make the final determination who receives the licenses.
Proposals will be accepted until 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.
