Folks at the Casper Police Department are preparing for what's expected to be a busy day next Wednesday, August 8th, when talent scouts from "American Idol" pass through Casper giving regional Idol hopefuls a chance at discovery.

Captain Mark Trimble has a few important pieces of information to share regarding protocol and how to participate safely.

Trimble says he's been told by Idol producers that the line will form on the grounds of Fort Casper Museum and auditions will start at 9 a.m. and continue through to 5 p.m. He says at 5 p.m. if you haven't had an audition, you wont be getting one.

Parking for the event will be at the Natrona County Fairgrounds and he says the only entrance to that parking will be on the north side of the Fairgrounds on West 13th. The main south entrance off of Fairground's Road and the west entrance off of Wyoming Boulevard will be closed.

The event is expected to pull in a large number of people creating congestion in the area. Regular Casper commuters are advised to travel an alternate route that day.
