Casper Police Arrest Two in Connection to Bank Robberies
A husband and wife are in custody after the husband's decision to turn himself in led Casper police to arrest his wife as well.
Shad Thompson was booked into jail for a probation revocation, with an original charge of robbery. His wife, Anna Thompson, was arrested for a bank robbery in Arizona.
Lt. Jeremy Tremel of the Casper Police Department told reporters Monday morning that police were called to the Ramkota Hotel on Sunday because Shad Thompson wanted to turn himself in, evidently aware of the status of his probation.
After police arrived, Anna Thompson allegedly made a comment about her association with another bank robbery, and police ultimately tied her to the robbery of Pyramid Federal Credit Union in Tuscon, Arizona last week.
Anna Thompson was taken to the Natrona County Detention Center, where she was placed on a hold for the FBI. During a search of her person, detention deputies found a small green bag in Thompson's bra, which allegedly contained just less than a gram of methamphetamine.
As a result, Anna Thompson was also charged with bringing a controlled substance into a jail.
She is scheduled to make her initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Casper at 1:45 p.m. Monday.
