Casper Man Facing Felony Marijuana Charges After Traffic Stop in Cheyenne
A 52-year-old Casper man is facing felony drug charges after Cheyenne area troopers found five pounds of marijuana in his pickup.
Court records say Mark Allen Tews was pulled over in the Love's Travel Stop parking lot around 3 p.m. Tuesday, after a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper following him northbound on Interstate 25 observed him "cross the fog line" as he exited onto College Drive.
Troopers searched Tews' pickup and found five vacuum sealed plastic bags of marijuana under the rear seat.
Tews was arrested and has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and felony possession of marijuana. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
Tews posted $500 bond yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 29 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
