Gas prices in Wyoming are on the rise again.

Analysts with GasBuddy.com say the average price for a gallon of regular in the Cowboy State increased two cents last week to $3.60.

“Yeah, it’s a little bit of a surprise curve ball,” GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan said. “Much of the nation is seeing lower prices in the last week, but some areas of the Rockies have experienced minor increases.”

DeHaan said the price spike was likely triggered by a recent supply pull-back from Intermountain West refineries.

“When refinery utilization generally slips, it can have a slight upward impact on gas prices – that’s just about the only thing I can think of (as to why prices increased), refineries just not producing as much in the Rockies.”

Gas is selling for $3.42 in Casper and $3.45 in Cheyenne and Laramie. DeHaan said the national average decreased a nickel last week to $3.51.
