Alcohol Use Investigated in Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Rawlins
A Wyoming man is dead following a motorcycle crash last week on Interstate 80 near Rawlins.
According to a crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 37-year-old Alvin Tallman was not wearing a helmet on Friday as he rode a 2008 Harley Davidson eastbound on I-80.
The interstate was wet, and rain was falling at the time of the crash, which occurred at about 4:20 p.m. near milepost 211.
An eyewitness reportedly saw the motorcycle pass their vehicle at about 80 mph, but Tallman reportedly had no hands on his handlebars.
Roughly a mile later, the eyewitness said, the motorcycle had crashed. Tallman was separated from the motorcycle and was fatally injured.
Investigators are looking at alcohol use, too much speed for conditions and lack of Tallman's control as contributing factors in the crash.
