Accident West of Casper Kills Riverton Woman, Injures Three

A Riverton woman is dead and three other people are injured after a two-vehicle accident roughly 30 miles west of Casper on U.S. Highway 20/26.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 36-year-old Elizabeth Erickson was driving westbound on U.S. 20/26 shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday when she lost control of her vehicle and hit the eastbound vehicle of 53-year-old Lee Grover, of Douglas, Wyo.

Officials found Erickson dead at the scene. Erickson’s passenger, 16-year-old Minnie Erickson, also of Riverton, Wyo., was transported to Wyoming Medical Center for treatment.

Both Grover and his passenger, 52-year-old Lela Grover, also of Douglas, Wyo., were transported to Wyoming Medical Center after the crash.

Highway patrol officials say speed and snowy road conditions were contributing factors in the crash. All four individuals involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.
