9 Semis Toppled Over by Wyoming Wind on I-25
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming Highway Patrol officials say high wind speeds caused nine semis to tip over on Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and the Colorado border.
The accidents were caused by 60-mph winds on Monday.
According to emails from the Wyoming Department of Transportation, the interstate was temporary closed for an hour to clean up trash that spilled over.
A wind advisory was issued throughout most of the day warning drivers of high-profile vehicles of the conditions.
Drivers that ignore such advisories could receive a maximum $750 fine and/or face 30 days in prison.
