Zacharia Johnson To Receive Competency Evaluation
A judge has ordered a Casper man accused of attempted murder to undergo a competency evaluation.
Defense attorney's for 26-year old Zacharia Johnson argued that Johnson may have issues comprehending his position.
Johnson has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
Investigators say in March, Johnson and 30-year-old Robert Simmons entered the home of Robert Masterson on the 700 block of South Beverly Street and stabbed Masterson several times.
A motive has not been revealed.
Johnson could receive life in prison without parole if convicted on the attempted murder charge.
Meanwhile, Simmons was recently sentenced to serve 20-to-25 in prison, after pleading guilty to charges stemming from the incident.
