CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming's two largest hospitals are looking at joining forces to create a statewide health care organization.

Wyoming Medical Center and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center announced the possible merger on Tuesday.

The Associated Press reports that a joint task force from both hospitals has been exploring the idea for a few months. Next, a joint task force of doctors from Cheyenne and Casper will be asked to weigh in on how the combined organization would work.

The hospitals expect to announce a formal partnership arrangement in the next several months.
