Wyoming Therapist Faces 275 Years in Prison, $200,000 Fine
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — A therapist has pleaded not guilty to two dozen charges including sexual assault, blackmail and sexual exploitation of a child.
Scott Addison, 48, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 25 felonies charges brought against him in February. District Court Judge Tori Kricken said in court that the therapist could face up 275 years in prison and up to $200,000 in fines if convicted of all charges.
Addison's trial is scheduled for Aug. 28. He is being held on $50,000 cash bond.
Defense attorney Charles Pelkey argued his client's significant ties to the community qualified him for a bond modification. Kricken did not change the bond.
Addison was a therapist for Pendley & Associates, a mental health services provider that serves Laramie and Cheyenne.
