On Friday leaders from Wyoming Medical Center (WMC) will serve as the featured luncheon speakers at the first-ever statewide Wyoming Patient Safety Summit. The event, hosted by the Wyoming Medical Society and the Wyoming Hospital Association, focuses on improved patient safety measures in healthcare settings. WMC Risk Manager, Shawna Willcox, says the summit stems from an increasing awareness of the need for greater and consistent safety protocols.

"Patient safety is important to everybody. Its important to the patients who are being cared for, its also very important to the staff who are delivering the care."

The summit takes place all day, Friday, November 2nd and is for healthcare professionals from around the state.
