Wyoming Legislature Passes UW Prexy’s Pasture Fix
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The state Legislature has approved a measure that fixes an error in state law regarding Prexy's Pasture at the University of Wyoming.
The university is barred under statute from constructing buildings on Prexy's Pasture, the campus's main quad.
However, Republican Sen. Fred Baldwin, of Kemmerer, says a UW student recently noticed that the statute provides an incorrect description of where Prexy's Pasture exists.
The incorrect legal description included an area of campus with buildings in an area barred from having buildings.
To fix the problem, House Bill 91 changed one word from "north" to "south."
