Wyoming Federal Judges Sentence Four For Meth, Gun Crimes
Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced four men including two from Casper for drugs and firearms crimes, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced Carroll Thomas Manning, Jr., 40, of Casper for being a felon and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. He received six years, six months of imprisonment, to be served consecutive to a state sentence. Upon release from custody, Manning will be on probation for three years, and he was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.
This case was investigated by the Casper Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Freudenthal also sentenced John Edward Hatch, 24, of Casper for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and for carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. He received nine years, seven months of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation, and was ordered to pay $500 in restitution and a $200 special assessment.
The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and BATFE investigated this case.
U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced Roman Daniel Vanberkom, 31, of Gillette for being a felon and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of firearms. He received three years, seven months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $400 fine and a $100 special assessment.
This case was investigated by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and the BATFE.
U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced McKleen Miranda-Bencomo, 28, of Gillette for distribution of methamphetamine and aiding and abetting. He received eight months of imprisonment, to be followed by two years of probation, and was ordered to pay $400 in restitution and a $100 special assessment.
