Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced four defendants for drug, counterfeiting, arson, and illegal alien crimes, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced Paul Dwayne Jones, 54, of Casper for aiding and abetting the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Jones received 10 years of imprisonment, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $900 in restitution.

This case was investigated by the Casper Police Department, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.

 

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced James Eugene Watkins, 52, of Osage, for counterfeiting and forging obligations or securities of the United States and aiding and abetting. Watkins was arrested in Weston County. He received one-and-a-half years of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $210 in restitution.

The U.S. Secret Service investigated this case.

 

U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Stephanie Joy Nicole Dodson, 45, of Everett, Pa., on two counts of timber set afire. Dodson was arrested in Pennsylvania. She received four years, five months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and $105,712.68 in restitution.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Forest Service.

 

Johnson also sentenced Juan Herrera-Diaz, 30, of Tuxpan, Nayarit, Mexico, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Herrera-Diaz was arrested in Albany County. He received time served, plus 10 days, was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and is subject to deportation upon release from custody.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
