Veterans Day Events In Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Ceremonies are planned around Wyoming to mark Veterans Day.

The Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery at Evansville will host the annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday.

Retired federal Judge William Downs is the keynote speaker and Bataan death march survivor, Rev. Leonard Robinson, will present the benediction and invocations.

At the University of Wyoming, member of the Army and Air Force ROTC and Navy and Marine veterans will take turns standing guard below a POW/MIA flag for 24 hours. The Laramie Boomerang reports that the names of those killed while serving in Afghanistan an Iraq will be read.

Gov. Matt Mead plans to attend the dedication of a Blue Star Memorial in Douglas.
