The University of Wyoming women’s rodeo team has ascended to the #1 spot in the Central Rocky Mountain Region after good showings in several events at Sheridan last weekend. Justene Hirsig won the breakaway roping competition and Casey Rae Reimler finished second. She added team points tying goats to take all-around honors. Casey Rae rejoined the Cowgirls this year returning to school at UW to obtain a master’s degree and she made the short-go at Sheridan in all three of her events. Hirsig wasn’t on the points team. Taylour Latham notched a third-place finish goat tying and also attained barrel racing points in Sheridan. Poke ladies have amassed 793 points so far with action revving up in Riverton this weekend.
