Trial Dates Set For Samson Emerson Of Bar Nunn In Sex Crime Case
A Bar Nunn man accused of having sexual contact with an underage girl and having intercourse with his then wife, after he knocked her out, will have his days in court.
A four-day trial, starting June 12th, 2017, has been scheduled for 34-year old Samson Emerson, who has pleaded not guilty to one count of first degree sexual assault, seven counts of first degree sexual abuse of a minor, seven counts of incest and one count of third degree sexual assault.
Though interviews with the young accuser/victim, investigators with the Natrona County Sheriff's Office say from January 2014 through September 2016, there were numerous times when Emerson had sexual contact with her, against her will, including one time after Emerson had done some hallucinogenic mushrooms.
There was another incident where Emerson took the victim to a bathroom, closed and locked the door and tried unsuccessfully to get the victim to show him her genitals.
All instances were when the accuser's/victim's parents were not at home.
Investigators also spoke with Emerson's ex-wife, who claimed on one day in September 2010, Emerson assaulted her and knocked her out, because he believed she was cheating on him.
When she awoke, she discovered Emerson was having sex with her while she was unconscious.
She did report the assault to Casper Police, but was too uncomfortable with telling male police officers about the sex encounter, and did not want the humiliation of having a sexual assault examination.
When interviewed, Emerson said he had an attraction to younger people, but would never intentionally do anything to the young accuser/victim.
As for his ex-wife, he said he knocked her out, and that he picked her up and put her on their bed.
Emerson agreed to take a polygraph examination, and the results of the examination showed a high level of deception.
He is awaiting trial on $250,000 bond, and could face between five-to-fifty years on the first degree sexual assault charge, up to 50 years in prison on each of the first degree sexual abuse of a minor charge, up to 15 years in prison on each of the incest charges, and up to 15 years in prison on the third degree sexual assault charge if convicted.
