The trial date of a Bar Nunn man accused of being involved in a fatal wreck has been moved.

Next week's scheduled trial for 33-year old Tracy Matekovic has been moved to the week of October 13th, because attorneys for both sides have said they need more time to prepare.

Matekovic has pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI resulting in serious bodily injury, interfering with a peace officer, breach of peace, and battery.

According to law enforcement, in December, officials were called to the intersection of Highway 20/26 and North Six Mile Road west of Casper, for a two-vehicle head on collision.

Investigators say Matekovic was driving in the wrong lane of travel, when he collided head-on with another vehicle driven by 38-year old Chris Sanders, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper said that Matekovic had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.

While at the hospital being treated, police and hospital personnel say he was causing a disturbance and was being combative at times.

Matekovic is free on $15,000 bond and could face up to 10 years in prison on the DUI serious bodily injury charge, if convicted.

He has three prior DUI’s on his record.
