Highway Patrol: Alcohol May Have Contributed to Crash That Killed Casper Man
Alcohol may have contributed to a crash that killed a 38-year-old Casper man Monday night. The Wyoming Highway Patrol reports that just before 6:00 p.m. Monday, 33-year-old Tracy Matekovic, of Casper, failed to stop his pickup truck at the intersection of Six Mile Road and Highway 20/26 west of Casper, then entered the westbound lane going east. He collided head-on with a westbound Ford Mustang driven by Christopher Sanders.
Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene. Matekovic was taken to Wyoming Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Neither driver was wearing their seat-belt. Authorities believe alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash, and will forward the results of their investigation to the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office for possible criminal charges.
