Tracy Matekovic Pleads Not Guilty To Charges Stemming From Fatal DUI Crash
A Bar Nunn man accused of being involved in a fatal wreck has entered his pleas in court.
Thirty-three year old Tracy Matekovic has pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI resulting in serious bodily injury, interfering with a peace officer, breach of peace, and battery.
According to law enforcement, in December, officials were called to the intersection of Highway 20/26 and North Six Mile Road west of Casper, for a two-vehicle head on collision.
Investigators say Matekovic was driving in the wrong lane of travel, when he collided head-on with another vehicle driven by 38-year old Chris Sanders, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper said that Matekovic had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.
While at the hospital being treated, police and hospital personnel say he was causing a disturbance and was being combative at times.
Matekovic is free on $15,000 bond awaiting trial and could face up to 10 years in prison on the DUI serious bodily injury charge, if convicted.
He has three prior DUI’s on his record.
