Casper native and Natrona County high school alum Lauren Taubert took 15th place in the heptathlon at the USA Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend. After one day of competition, she was in 14th place and turned in the 1st place time in the 800 meters with a time of 2.10.12. Taubert placed 9th in the high jump, 11th in the 20o meters, 12th in the hurdles, 15th in the shot put, 16th in the javelin and 16th in the long jump. Her point total at nationals was 5500. Taubert competes for Kansas State took 8th place at the NCAA championships to earn All-American status. She took 2nd place in the heptathlon at the Big 12 conference meet and was the 2016 Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year in Wyoming.

Kansas State University
