Tracy Olsen pleaded not guilty in Natrona County Circuit Court on Tuesday to a number of different charges, including eluding police, interference, DUI, and more, after he allegedly led police on a high-speed chase early Tuesday morning.
A 34-year-old Larimer County man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting an at-risk adult, several sheriff's deputies, and a police K9 in addition to barricading himself inside a home.
The Casper Police Department recently announced that the officers involved in a March 2022 standoff in Natrona County that resulted in the death of a suspect were found justified in their actions.
"Over the course of 18 hours, trained crisis negotiators used a multitude of tactics in an attempt to peacefully resolve the situation," the NCSO wrote. "During the incident, there was exchange of gunfire between the armed barricaded subject and law enforcement."
A man claiming to be the father of the suspect in Friday night and Saturday morning's standoff with local law enforcement has reached out via social media to both apologize to and thank officers for how they handled that tragic situation.
The Natrona County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Casper Police Department and the Natrona County Special Response Team are onsite, assisting with the active investigation.
