Summer At Trails Center In Casper Brings Cook Off, Added Hours

The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper is kicking off the season with a fundraising cook-off and and a return to summer hours. From now through Labor Day weekend, the Trails Center will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Mondays. They'll also be open Independence Day, and admission to the center is free every day.

The 5th Annual Ghost Town Gumbo Cook Off is scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd. This fundraising event to support the National Historic Trails Center Foundation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 1700 Fairgrounds Road In Casper. Organizers say the family-friendly event will include live music, a car show, vendors and lots of gumbo to taste. Wrist bands to enter are $10 per person with a discount to $5 for veterans. Children 6 and under are free.
