Police have identified two 28-year-old Cheyenne residents as the suspects in three armed robberies and a theft which occurred in Cheyenne in August and September.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says Mandi Hopkins and Taylor Wardell -- who were arrested Oct. 1 on unrelated warrants -- were behind back-to-back armed robberies which took place Aug. 14-15 at the Silver Mine Subs on Vandehei Avenue and the Loaf 'N Jug at 4373 E. Lincolnway, an armed robbery at Vino's on Sept. 9 and a Sept. 27 theft at the Subway on Carlson Street.

Malatesta says investigators determined that Wardell completed all three of the armes robberies and stole money from the cash drawer at Subway.  Nobody was injured during the incidents.

"When Wardell was arrested, he had a robbery note which stated, “Give me the money or I’ll shoot.” in his possession as well as clothing used in the robberies," said Malatesta. "Hopkins admitted to helping Wardell commit several of these robberies by driving a vehicle for him and planning the commission of these crimes."

Hopkins and Wardell remain in custody at the Laramie County jail.
