A Pennsylvania fugitive who was captured in Casper in late February pleaded not guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm during his arraignment in federal court on Friday.

Marshall McGinty entered his plea before U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Michael Schickich in Casper.

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison followed by three years supervised release and a $250,000 fine, Shickich told him.

McGinty is scheduled to go on trial before U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson in Cheyenne on June 8.

The federal government is among three jurisdictions that want McGinty.

On Feb. 16, the Pennsylvania State Police issued a fugitive warrant for him on 11 charges including kidnapping and robbery.

He was traced to Casper where he was arrested on Feb 25 and charged with possession of stolen property in his car. He also had at least one weapon in his car.

On March 3, the U.S. Attorney in Wyoming filed a criminal complaint against him for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

McGinty being held in Natrona County on a $250,000 bond. He later waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over to state district court for trial.
