PRETORIA, South Africa (AP) — The South African athlete who made history as the first double amputee to run in the Olympics has been charged with murder. Police arrested Oscar Pistorius (pihs-TOHR'-ee-uhs) after his girlfriend was shot to death inside his home in Pretoria. South African media have speculated that Pistorius may have mistaken Reeva Steenkamp for an intruder, but police say those reports aren't coming from them. They say there have been previous incidents and "allegations of a domestic nature" at Pistorius' home.
