No Skijoring in Jackson Hole

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Jackson-area skiers will not be pulled by horses running at high speed this year due to poor snow conditions in Wyoming.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports the Jackson Hole Shrine Club and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort have canceled the annual skijoring event.
Resort Business Development Director Bill Lewkowitz says proper safety conditions could not be secured to support the skijoring event.
The event scheduled for mid-February was also canceled last year because a winter storm knocked out power to Teton Village.
The Shriners have also canceled the Cutter Races, which involves two-horse teams racing on a snow track. They will host a winter carnival in its place.
