Despite fire bans being lifted in other counties throughout the state of Wyoming, Natrona County’s fire ban still remains in effect.

Stew Anderson, Natrona County’s emergency manager, says, though surrounding counties have seen wetter and cooler conditions, Natrona County remains too mild and too dry for its ban to be lifted.

That's what they're waiting for, just to get some established, cool weather along with moisture," Anderson said. "That's usually when they get lifted, and unfortunately it has been (that) we'll get a little moisture like we're getting today, then it gets warm."

Natrona County’s fire ban has been in effect since June.
