The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents that the county-wide burn ban will remain in effect through the Labor Day weekend.

Lt. Mark Sellers with the sheriff’s office says those in the area should exercise caution throughout the holiday.

“No fires allowed,” Sellers said. “We’re coming into a holiday, Labor Day weekend, and lots of archery and hunting seasons are opening up, and we’d just like to remind everyone that it is still in effect.”

Sellers says the ban includes the use of charcoal grills. Propane grills, however, are exempt from the burn ban.

“Propane grills are allowed but charcoal grills are not allowed outside the city limits of Casper,” Sellers said. “You can have a charcoal grill within the city limits, but outside the city limits you cannot have a charcoal grill.”

The burn ban has been in place since June 26.
