CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Another weekend with more wildfires starting across Wyoming and firefighters quickly responding.

State Forester Bill Crapser says there was a lot of activity over the weekend statewide, especially in Sheridan, Campbell and Crook counties in northern Wyoming.

Crapser says state helitack crews responded to five separate fires over the weekend.

A range fire in Sheridan County forced the evacuation of a few homes Sunday but firefighters were able to stop the fire before it reached them.

In south-central Wyoming, the Seminoe Fire in Carbon County is contained but a new fire west of there has started by lightning in the Ferris Mountains. It has burned about 2,200 acres and is about 20 percent contained.
