Man Pleads Guilty to ‘Dust Off’ DUI
A Casper man pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in a Casper Circuit courtroom Thursday. Brandon Lee Bennett, 18, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of DUI, telling Circuit Court Judge Michael Huber that he was high after inhaling Dust Off and crashed his car.
The DUI charge is from a Wednesday night incident in which Casper Police were called to a vehicle crash on CY Avenue. The police affidavit notes that when officers arrived at the scene, they found cans of Dust Off in the car, and one can was cool to the touch, which means it had recently been used.
At his initial appearance before Judge Huber, Bennett was matter-of-fact with his guilty plea. Judge Huber accepted the plea, ordered Bennett to undergo a substance abuse evaluation before his sentencing, and set bond at 550 dollars cash or surety.
