A 32-year-old man could face up to 10 years in prison after allegedly stealing a purse from an SUV and using the victim's credit card.

Charging documents allege Cody Mauch broke into an SUV in the Cheyenne Safeway parking lot on Feb. 16 and stole a purse containing a wallet, medications, several social security cards and a credit card.

According to an affidavit, Mauch went to the Smoker Friendly at 620 E. 16th Street and used the stolen credit card to buy a glass pipe.

He then reportedly went to the Exxon at 820 W. Lincolnway and tried to buy a crossbow and two Red Bull energy drinks. The transaction was declined, so he just bought the Red Bulls.

Mauch was located on Feb. 22 and reportedly admitted to the allegations. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor credit card fraud and burglary.

Mauch is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $3,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 7 at 3 p.m.
