Three Casper athletes won state championships on the opening day of the State Track Meet in Casper on Thursday. On the boys side, Natrona's Hunter Brown repeated as the 4A champion in the long jump with a leap 22 feet and a quarter. Ryan Foy of Kelly Walsh won the 4A pole vault state championship clearing 13-6. Christian Rasmussen was 3rd and KW's Karson Skalsjy was 4th. Kelly Walsh runner Josh Pierantoni took 5th in the 4A 3200 meter run. Kaleb Smith of Midwest placed 4th in the 1A long jump.

On the girls side, Maddison Dedick won the 4A discus with a toss of 129 feet 5 inches. She finished 10th in this event at the state meet a year ago. KW's Jamia Johnson was 4th and her teammate Jayla Johnson was 6th. Natrona's Kayla Stibley placed 4th in the 4A pole vault, clearing 9-6. Corin Carruth of KW took 7th in the 4A high jump, finishing at 5 feet even
