CODY, Wyo. (AP) — A lawsuit accuses three staff members of an elementary school in northern Wyoming of mistreating a 6-year-old boy with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

A lawsuit was filed recently in District Court by the boy's parents and seeks more than $835,000 in damages from the educators and the Powell School District.

Powell attorney Tracy Copenhaver, who represents the district and the school staff members, says the lawsuit's accusations are inaccurate and will be denied.

The lawsuit cites 30 different claims of misconduct that it says occurred in 2015 and 2016.

It accuses one staff member of causing the child to be removed from his home for a week by falsely claiming the boy was suicidal.
