Lander Man Dead After Chrismas Eve Rollover Accident

A Lander man is dead after a Christmas Eve rollover accident in Fremont County.

Sgt. Stephen Townsend with the Wyoming Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Clarence Armajo was driving southbound on Plunkett Road near Lander shortly after 7:00 a.m. Monday when his vehicle slid off the right side of the roadway. Townsend says Armajo’s vehicle then rolled several times.

“The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was totally ejected from the vehicle during the rollover maneuver and was transported to Lander Valley Medical Center by ambulance,” Townsend said.

Townsend says Armajo was pronounced dead after being transported to the medical center in Lander.

Highway patrol officials believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
