If you live in Wyoming, the question is a stupid one. But for people who have never been out this way and see it for the first time, they wonder how people live in Wyoming. Most everyone lives an isolated lifestyle by comparison to other states.

It's not until the end of the video that they finally get to major Wyoming towns like the state capital of Cheyenne. A big part of the narration is about managing a state where people live so far from each other.

Wyomingites make their living primarily through energy extraction. Other big industries include tourism, agriculture, and government work. Oil, natural gas, coal, trona, and uranium extraction drive a large portion of the state's blue-collar economy.

As for tourism, millions of visitors to places like Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks support a massive seasonal and permanent hospitality sector. Though that is just the beginning. There is an entire state of natural wonders to explore.

Traditional cattle ranching and farming remain foundational to the state's rural economy and identity. State, federal, and military institutions—such as the University of Wyoming and F.E. Warren Air Force Base—are among the largest regional employers. Local services like healthcare, construction, and trades grow steadily to support resident communities.
