Wyoming High School Indoor Track Scoreboard: Feb. 15-17, 2024
The 2024 Wyoming prep indoor track season is in Week 6. Teams and individuals are either at a prestigious national meet or on a competition hiatus. The 44th Simplot Games draw some of the top competitors from around the country to the ICCU Dome at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. Any high school athlete can enter one open running event, two relay events, and two field events, according to the Simplot Games registration information page. Standards must be met if an athlete wants to enter a second open running event.

Thursday, Feb. 15:
Simplot Games in Holt Arena at Idaho State University: Track Events start at 4:30 p.m. & Field Events begin at 5 p.m. – only finals in the Girls & Boys Weight Throw.
Teams With Athletes Competing: Big Horn, Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cody, Douglas, Evanston, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Lovell, Mountain View, Natrona County, Pinedale, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Star Valley, Thunder Basin, Torrington, Worland.
Green River's Lillian Allison took 5th in the weight throw at 37-5.50. Tegen Seeds of Douglas was 6th at 58-9.75 in the weight throw.
Friday, Feb. 16:
Simplot Games in Holt Arena at Idaho State University: Track Events start at 8:35 a.m. & Field Events begin at 9 a.m. – no Finals; only preliminary or qualifying events on this day.
Teams With Athletes Competing: Big Horn, Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cody, Douglas, Evanston, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Lovell, Mountain View, Natrona County, Pinedale, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Star Valley, Thunder Basin, Torrington, Worland.
Among the top 3 prelim finishes: Natrona County took 2nd in the prelims of the girls' Sprint Medley Relay. Adam Gibson of Campbell County was 2nd in the 60-meter dash for the boys'. Tegan Krause of Central was 3rd in the 200 meters. Thunder Basin was 2nd in the 4x200 meter relay. Sheridan was 3rd in the 4x400-meter relay.

Saturday, Feb. 17:
Simplot Games in Holt Arena at Idaho State University: Field Events Start at 8:30 a.m. & Track Events start at 8:45 a.m. – Event Finals all day.

GIRLS: Cheyenne East's Taliah Morris placed 2nd in the long jump at 19-00. Teagan Becker of Kelly Walsh finished 2nd in the shot put at 40-10.
Star Valley's Valerie Jirak took 4th in the long jump, 6th in the high jump, and 8th in the 60-meter dash. Jaylee Antonino of Mountain View was 5th in the 60-meter hurdles. Torrington's Brooklyn Asmus was 8th in the 200 meters. Natrona County took 4th and Evanston was 6th in the Sprint Medley Relay. Kieran Giraldo of Laramie and Sofia Rose of Central were 5th and 6th in the Freshman 1600 meters. Maggie Madsen finished 3rd in the 3200 meters. Kelly Walsh was 5th and Thunder Basin 8th in the 4x200 meter relay. Thunder Basin took 8th in the 4x400 meter relay. Cheyenne East was 5th and Sheridan placed 5th in the 4x800 meter relay. Allie Scribner of KW was 7th in the long jump. Lilly Charest tied-7th in the pole vault. Harper Boche of Torrington was 4th in the shot put, and Lillian Allison of Green River took 8th. Claire Lubben of Thunder Basin placed 8th in the triple jump. Ashley Rogge of Thunder Basin came in 4th place in the high jump.
BOYS: Kaiden Lee of NC won the high jump at 6-6 and was 2nd in the triple jump at 46-6.75. Ryder Charest of Sheridan won the freshman 1600 meters at 4:33.66. Thunder Basin won the 4x200 meter relay at 1:31.86. Campbell County's Adam Gibson took 2nd in the 60-meter dash at 6.94 seconds. Thunder Basin took 2nd in the 4x400 meter relay at 3:25.61.
Sheridan's Aiden O'Leary was 8th in the 60-meter hurdles. Evanston's Gabe Hutchison placed 8th in the 200 meters. Bradley Ekstrom from Thunder Basin came in 6th place in the 400 meters. Sheridan finished 3rd in the SMR. Sheridan's Aadan Luna was 3rd in the freshman 1600 meters. Flint Hartsky of Laramie was 5th in the freshman 1600 meters. Sheridan came in 4th in the 4x200 meter relay and 5th in the 4x400 meter relay. Evanston was 8th in the 4x400 meter relay. Cheyenne Central was 3rd in the 4x800-meter relay. Sam Melchior of Central was 6th in the long jump. Kavin Hoff of Natrona County took 3rd in the pole vault. Maddix Blazovich of Rock Springs was 5th in the pole vault, and Central's Nicholas Lewis placed 7th. Quade Jordan of Rawlins (Encampment) finished 6th and Raynor Ranum of Campbell County 7th in the shot put. Charlie Coles of Central came in 8th in the triple jump.
