There's only two movies I've ever walked out of the theater on. One was the Drew Barrymore Cinderella movie and the other...

ARACHNOPHOBIA

The movie starred Jeff Bridges and John Goodman and was about a town that is invaded by a dangerous spider. To this day, I've never watched any part of that movie again.

I wouldn't say I have a fear of spiders, they're just not my favorite thing in the world. The thing is, I really do have a good reason for not being a fan.

When I was a kid, my grandpa would tell me of about him having nightmares about things he used to do when he was young. One of those things was catch Tarantulas and put them in a jar and see which one could last the longest. Just thinking about this, makes the hair on my neck stand up.

Since those stories, I've never been a big fan of spiders. So, naturally, I started wondering how many big and poisonous spiders were in Wyoming was and figured I should find out.

In my, we'll call it research, I found that there are lots of different types of spiders that call the Cowboy State home. Some are big, but not nearly as big as some parts of the United States.

There are some things that are better left unknown, this probably should've been one of those things, but I did it anyway. Call it curiosity or call it wanting to help others that could've been wondering the same thing.

According to A-Z Animals.com, Plenty of Wyoming's spiders get pretty big and gnarly. The one that caught my eye as the likely candidate to own the title of "Wyoming's largest spider" is the Carolina Wolf Spider.

Hogna Carolinenis can be anywhere from 2 inches to 4 inches.

These nasty buggers will hang out in your garden, basement, on trees or anywhere food is present. The mothers will carry their eggs or newly hatched babies on their backs and appear even bigger.

Not only is this sucker big, but it's not fun to get bitten by it either.

The bite hurts and the area will become swollen and itchy. If you're allergic to their venom it could be dangerous, but most aren't.

If you're worried about the most poisonous spider in Wyoming, that would be the Western Black Widow.

Hope this doesn't cause you any unrest, but now we're all informed.
