The H.D. in H.D. Outdoors stands for 'Honor & Duty.'

Their mission is to 'honor' disabled veterans for their 'duty' of serving our country. This is done by giving veterans an all-expense-paid hunting or fishing trip. When the veteran goes on their outing, everything is paid for, including airfare (if needed), lodging, guides and outfitters, meat processing, taxidermy, and shipping costs.

The organization holds fundraisers to help pay for these hunts. Earlier this year, they raised over $35,000 at Thankful Thursday, and next up is the 3rd Annual H.D. Outdoors: Clays for the Brave shoot and Calcutta fundraiser, which will be held on May 3 and 4. Registration is open, and the cost is $600 per team. That includes dinner on the 3rd, the shoot, lunch, and snacks at the shoot on the 4th.

The weekend starts with the Calcutta on Friday evening at the Hangar Bar & Grill in Bar Nunn. There will be table games, raffles, a live auction, and your chance to bet on a team in the Calcutta.

If you're unsure what happens at a Calcutta, here's the definition from dictionary.com

bid for participating contestants in an auction, the proceeds from which are put into a pool for distribution, according to a prearranged scale of percentages, to those who selected winners.

You're bidding on the team you think has the best chance of winning the sporting clay competition on Saturday at the Casper Skeet Club.
