Gillette Got A Gator; Authorities Remove Animals From Home
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say they removed a 32-inch long alligator and other animals from a northeast Wyoming residence where a woman is being evicted.
Campbell County Animal Control Supervisor Jeanette Graves tells the Gillette News Record that a 40-year-old woman called Tuesday to ask for assistance with removing the animals from her home.
Graves says she found the alligator living in a 50-gallon steel horse tank alongside two tortoises.
She says the alligator weighs about two to three pounds
The woman also had a salamander, mice and a couple of cats.
Graves says the alligator is staying at the animal shelter while she is looking to send to Utah's Reptile Rescue Service in Salt Lake City.
