Four Natrona Athletes Sign College Letters of Intent
Four athletes from Natrona County High School will be taking their skills to the next level as they officially signed college letters of intent. Trevon Smith will be headed to Chadron State in Nebraska to play football. He is a supremely athletic young man who was named all state in 4A on both the offensive and defensive line. Smith is also a two time state champion wrestler in 4A at 285 pounds with just one loss this past season.
Garrett Clasen will be going to Hastings College in Nebraska. He averaged 216 a game and has bowled in the prestigious Pepsi Open in Gillette. Clasen also played baseball for the Casper Oilers American Legion program.
Jessica Shedden will go to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley for baseball. Yes, baseball with the men. She has played in the Casper youth leagues for many years to hone her skills in baseball and has not played competitive girls softball. Shedden is an infielder by trade and her primary position is 3rd base.
The last NC signee is golfer Jordan Vanetti who will be attending Central Wyoming College in Riverton. Vanetti finished 19th at the 4A state meet last fall with rounds of 97 and 98. There's always room for improvement in golf, so she'll be working on everything, especially chipping and putting.
