Wyoming Trooper Pleads Not Guilty To Stalking Estranged Wife

The  Wyoming State Trooper who was charged with stalking his estranged wife and for destroying property pleaded not guilty April 7.

Robert King, 31, was originally charged with stalking and property destruction in March. He previously pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of violating a protection order. His trial is set for July 10, 2017.

Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell amended his bail conditions to allow him to leave the state.

King was arrested after the Cheyenne Police Department began investigating him for felony vandalism. King's wife informed police that she believed her estranged husband had been stalking her for about two months, according to court documents. At one point, she said King had called her about 30 times a day.

Police arrested King after they found him outside of wife's home dressed in a dark clothing smelling of alcohol. His wife initially called because she heard rocks hit her home.

The former Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper could see up to 20 years in prison for allegedly stalking his estranged wife and vandalizing her boyfriend’s car.
