Former NCHS Track Athlete Qualifies for NCAA Indoor Nationals

Former Natrona County High School track and field star Lauren Taubert has qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track Championships in the pentathlon thanks to finishing 2nd at the Big 12 Championships at Texas Tech over the weekend. Taubert rang up 4100 points which was personal best as she won the 800 meter run with 3rd place finishes in the 60 meter hurdles. the high jump and the shot put. Taubert also placed 8th in the long jump and she since she qualified for nationals, she also earned All-American distinction. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be in Birmingham, Alabama on March 8-9. Taubert was a 3 time state champion at NC in the 300 hurdles and the high jump and also won a state championship in the 100 hurdles.
