Extortion Scam With Threat Of Explosions Going Around Wyoming
Law enforcement agencies across Wyoming are warning residents and business about an extortion scam that been going around, involving the threat of explosions.
In the past few days, various businesses in Casper, Laramie, Riverton, Douglas and maybe more, have received phone calls from an unknown person or persons, demanding money, or else a bomb would go off.
The caller then instructs the person to purchase a green dot card with a pre-determined amount of money on it, and then give them the number to the card.
Some have even threatened people and businesses to not contact law enforcement, unless they want to face consequences.
In each recent case so far, no explosive device has been found.
Police say they treat situations like these very seriously, and that you should not hesitate to call 911, if something like this happens.
