The National Weather Service In Riverton has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of elevated fire risk Saturday in all of central and northern Wyoming. They say relative humidity will drop into the lower and mid teens across the lower elevations, and mid-teens to around 25 percent in the mountains.
Winds will be west from 10 to 15 m.p.h. withe afternoon gusts up to 20 m.p.h. across Natrona County. In Johnson County, they say we can expect variable winds from 5 to 10 m.p.h. with occasional gusts up to 15 m.p.h.
Residents, travelers, and campers are being encouraged to take strong caution if considering any type of burning activities. The Weather Service also warns you shouldn't park your vehicle over any dry plant surface "as this could cause the vehicle to go up in flames."
